A Walk Round Rudyard Lake

A couple of weekends ago the boyfriend and I decided to go for a walk. It was just starting to get that seasonal crisp in the air that comes during autumn, and when we woke up in the morning the sun was out and it was if the fates had heard our planning and had decided to make it a nice day for a trip to Rudyard Lake.

It was one of those days where everyone you come across as your crunch your way through leaves just seems really happy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again that autumn and winter are my favourite seasons, because although the leaves are dying and the nights are drawing in, you just cant beat wrapping up and wandering through everything the seasons have to offer.

Autumn Knits

I am much a more an Autumn/Winter fashion person than a Spring/Summer one.

This is most likely because I live in Manchester, one of the rainiest places in England. We get about a week's worth of sun so spending good money on Spring/Summer items always seems like a waste.

Autumn/Winter fashion, on the other hand, feels like an investment. And jumpers? Jumpers I can definitely get behind as a must-have purchase for the coming cold months.

I think I search Knitwear sections of websites more than any other section, so when I stumbled over this little number on Topshop's website I suddenly started thinking of cosy boots, thick scarves and drinks in front of pub fires.

Topshop  Knitted Tie Back Jumper - £40

I love the pale grey colour. I think grey is always a bit nicer in winter than black. Black just seems to add to the darkness, whereas grey perks me up. The bow on the back just adds a little something extra to the texture of those little bobbly bits! 

I think I'll definitely be saving up for this. I'm not always a fan of ordering online, especially with knitwear as it can be a bit scratchy, so I'll be hoping to pop into a Topshop store to have quick feel. Fingers crossed it feels as comfy as it looks!

Shoelessness

Sometimes in the morning when I've gone through the task of finding an outfit I'm happy with I look at my feet and just don't know what to put on them. I hate to admit it, but I do.

Years ago, when I worked for New Look, I came home every weekend with a new pair of shoes: open my cupboard; shoes would fall out. I managed this feat by not having anything else that required my immediate funds and the pretty nifty 50% discount that I got from working there.

Nowadays I have things like rent, my car, my lifestyle, and my desire to spend money on good food which I feel have first dibs on my earnings.

This therefore leads to the feeling of perfect-shoelessness.

For Autumn I've decided to make a shoe wishlist. A perfect mix of burgundy hues and mixed fabrics that I'm hoping will suit any outfit I manage to pull together. A shoe for every autumn occasion. (The wonderful thing about this shoe wishlist is that I would wear each shoe both for casual and for work which is a lovely double-whammy and something I try and go all out for when picking out clothes and shoes).

Only problem is I need to find £291 to get them all.
